About Clark Murdock

Clark Murdock recently published Future Making: Getting Your Organization Ready for What's Next, which is based on his many years of experience advising and planning for senior managers. "I have been fascinated with how organizations make decisions for my entire professional career," he says, "and Future Making lays out my approach to how leaders can make decisions and take actions that better position their organizations for the future."

With over twenty years of experiences as an advisor to senior-level managers, Dr. Murdock is deeply knowledgeable about how planners — whether called policy planners, long-range planners or strategic planners — interact with their bosses and help them make the tough decisions that can, if followed by action, shape the future of their organizations.  While the deputy director of strategic planning in the Air Force, he helped institutionalize a long-range planning process, but then failed to prevent its ossification.
